Pam Coffman
Pam Coffman is an accomplished art educator and professional artist with more than 22 years of experience teaching studio art and art history at the secondary and college level. She received her BA from Rollins College in 1984 and her MS in Art Education and Studio Art from Florida State University in 1993. During her six-year tenure at Seminole Community College, Ms. Coffman implemented a successful Studio Art and Art History program on the Oviedo Campus.
Ms. Coffman served as the Curator of Education at the Museum of Art – DeLand, Florida from 2008 until her retirement in October of 2023. She was responsible for all aspects of the Museum’s education programs including docent training, curriculum development, organizing classes, workshops, outreach, field study/tours, gallery talks and other exhibition related activities for all ages.
As a professional artist, Ms. Coffman has been actively engaged in making art since the early 1970s. She has participated in numerous art festivals, gallery shows, exhibitions, and invitational and juried shows throughout Florida. Her work has received recognition in the form of sales and awards.
In addition to creating her own work, Ms. Coffman loves teaching workshops and giving talks on art and creativity. She has served as a juror/judge for numerous art exhibitions and competitions throughout the area.
One of Pam’s favorite quotes that reflects her philosophy of art and life is by Robert Frost: “What is required is sight and insight - then you might add one more: excite.”
